Movies@Hope welcomes the new year with a special screening of an inspiring documentary film about America's best-loved tree, The American Elm: Majestic, Imperiled, Renewed. Learn about how this majestic American icon played a pivotal role in the layout and beautification of America's cities, its tragic near-disappearance under the onslaught of Dutch Elm Disease, and its inspiring comeback as a fast-growing large canopy tree helping us cope with climate change and strive for sustainability. Filmmaker and award-winning Prince George's County environmental activist Dan Smith will introduce the film and lead a discussion afterwards. The film is suitable for older children, and light refreshments will be served. Admission is free, and donations are accepted. Friday, 11 January 2013, 07:30pm
