Movies at Hope is a film series dedicated to enriching our community by presenting documentary and feature films that explore the environmental, social, moral, and spiritual issues that define our time. Our next movie will be Galileo's Battle for the Heavens, on Sunday, February 10 at 7:00 pm. This acclaimed British docudrama goes beyond the myth of science vs. religion to explore the true story of Galileo's fateful encounter with his friend and admirer, Pope Urban VIII, over the nature of the solar system -- and his relationship with his beloved daughter, Sister Maria Celeste, who took her name in honor of her father's study of the heavens. The film is suitable for older children, and popcorn and other refreshments will be served. Admission is free, and donations are accepted.
