"Ulee's Gold" - Noted Maryland beekeeper and committed environmentalist Bill Castro introduces this overlooked independent film from 1997 that garnered Peter Fonda a Golden Globe and Oscar nomination for best actor. Fonda plays an unassuming Florida beekeeper who realizes it’s up to him to save his family from violent criminals. Mr. Castro will provide fascinating context around the lead character’s livelihood, and will also speak about current environmental threats to the honeybee population.
