"Fire at Sea" - Join us as we spotlight the global refugee crisis with a remarkable documentary from 2016, "Fire at Sea." This award-winning film shows firsthand the plight of immigrants as they attempt to make the perilous crossing from Africa in leaky, overcrowded boats to the remote Italian island of Lampedusa, and the efforts of Italian relief workers to help them. This desperate scenario contrasts with the slow, unchanging rhythms of daily life in this remote community. Cameroon native and local resident Bertin Beni will be on hand to share his experiences and his perspective on this troubling situation. As always, admission and refreshments are FREE!
